Alexandra (Alex) Jolly
Alexandra is a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist with 30 years of clinical practice, dedicated to supporting adolescents and adults across a diverse range of mental health presentations. Her extensive career spans mental health, private practice, general practice settings, and multidisciplinary teams, reflecting her broad expertise and adaptability in various clinical environments. She brings extensive training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, and clinical hypnotherapy, offering clients an integrative and evidence-based approach to treatment.
Her approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in deep clinical expertise. Drawing on CBT and ACT, Alexandra assists clients to build psychological flexibility, regulate emotions, and develop sustainable coping strategies. When working with entrenched patterns, she incorporates Schema Therapy to address longstanding beliefs and behavioural patterns developed through early life experiences. Hypnotherapy is incorporated into Alexandra's practice either as a complementary approach alongside other therapeutic modalities or as a primary intervention when clinically indicated. This method is particularly valuable for client’s experiencing anxiety, pain, performance-related concerns, or ingrained habits that require more profound subconscious change. Alexandra applies hypnotherapy selectively, ensuring that its use aligns with each client's unique needs and therapeutic goals.
Throughout her three decades of practice, Alexandra has supported clients presenting with a wide spectrum of concerns, including:
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Trauma-related issues
• Chronic stress
• Adjustment difficulties
• LGBTQI+ matters
• Relationship and family challenges
• Personality vulnerabilities
• Grief
• Major life transitions
Alexandra is renowned for her warmth, professionalism, and respect for client autonomy. She is committed to empowering individuals to make meaningful change, supporting her clients with compassion and clinical excellence at every stage of their therapeutic journey.
